Ghana – A Textile Center in Africa
Folkwear, the cult California-born sewing brand dedicated to preserving global garment traditions, devoted a long-form travelogue to Ghana’s textile heritage. From the looms of kente weavers to the dye pots of batik makers, the article celebrated the country as a vibrant hub of craft and creativity.
When the journey reached Accra, Elle Lokko appeared as a highlight stop — an “awesome little store” where locally designed clothing, jewellery, and accessories captured Ghana’s contemporary design spirit. Paired with a visit to the neighbouring ANO Institute of Art and Knowledge, the feature positioned Elle Lokko at the crossroads of fashion and culture in the capital.
