When Black Panther costume designer Ruth E. Carter — later to become the first African-American woman to win an Oscar for Best Costume Design — spoke about her inspirations, Elle Lokko proudly made the list. From Accra to Hollywood, the store was hailed as one of the best clothing shops in the city, adding a touch of Elle Lokko's spirit to the world of Wakanda.
