Gallery Elle Lokko in the Spotlight
Though Gallery Elle Lokko was active for less than a year, it left an indelible mark. Co-created with Open House Studio, the space quickly became a hub for experimentation and community, hosting exhibitions and cross-disciplinary collaborations.
That energy caught international attention when ARTnews profiled Essé Dabla-Attikpo, one of West Africa’s most dynamic curators, and highlighted a groundbreaking performance-exhibition at Gallery Elle Lokko. In a feature that placed Accra’s scene alongside the global surge of African contemporary art, our little gallery stood as proof of Elle Lokko’s ongoing commitment to nurturing platforms for dialogue, creativity, and connection.
