KAYADUA at Elle Lokko

There is something sacred about the moments just before sunrise.
The world is quiet. Darkness begins to soften. Light slowly stretches across the horizon and announces that something new has arrived.
It is this feeling that inspired AHEMAKYE — meaning Dawn in Akan — the latest collection from KAYADUA.
For two days, Elle Lokko opens its doors to an intimate presentation of the collection in Accra.
Step into the world of KAYADUA and encounter AHEMAKYE up close — explore the textures, discover the silhouettes, and experience the story woven through each piece.
More than a collection, AHEMAKYE is an invitation: to embrace renewal, honour where you have been, and move confidently toward what comes next.
Designed by founder Eyiwaa Agyekumhene, the collection reflects on life’s natural rhythms and the seasons women move through — emerging wiser, clearer, and more fully themselves.
Grounded in KAYADUA’s commitment to craftsmanship, approximately 85% of the collection is created using handwoven Kente produced by artisans in Ghana’s Ashanti Region. Rich colour, considered construction, and evolving silhouettes come together in a collection that honours heritage while imagining new futures.
Founded in Ghana, KAYADUA creates contemporary ready-to-wear inspired by traditional African textile traditions and designed for modern women. Since evolving from accessories into ready-to-wear in 2021, the brand has gained international recognition while remaining deeply committed to ethical production, local craftsmanship, and cultural continuity.
Featured in publications including Vogue, Variety, Grazia UK, i-D and more, KAYADUA continues to redefine how Ghanaian design is seen globally.
