Elle Lokko Presents “Moving Houses”

  • Elle Lokko, Accra’s premier concept store for women, has launched its 2022 campaign themed “Moving Houses”

  • “Moving Houses” celebrates Ghanaian and African fashion while marking the store’s relocation to a new venue

ACCRA, Ghana, 6 May 2022 — Elle Lokko, a Lokko House fashion and lifestyle brand for women, launched its 2022 campaign on Saturday, 30 April 2022 with a night of fashion, art and music. Titled Moving Houses, guests were ushered into a multi-faceted experience with an art exhibition at Gallery Elle Lokko (GEL), a fashion show on Lokko Road and musical performances at the new Elle Lokko space. The campaign, which was also the premiere edition of the Elle Lokko Fashion & Art Exhibition (ELFAE2022), announced the store’s relocation with a curated take on classic Ghanaian fashion trends through the lens of contemporary African brands. It was described as “a transition from the old to the new, a journey in space and in time to discover iconic Ghanaian fashion and the brands that embody timeless style”.

The event started with Invisible Waves, presented by ArtSwap Inc. with modern art by Alifo, Gyekyi D, Helena Sackey, Nii Odai, Samuel Sowatey, Tano Jackson and Themanyphacegod on display. As the sun set, the Lokko Road turned into a runway for the Moving Houses fashion show, styled by Samuel Inyang with pieces from Elle Lokko partner brands including 87Origins, AAKS, Chez Julie, Geometric, I Am Isigo, Kati Torda, Kente Gentlemen, Nuna Couture, Osei Duro, Sole Inspiration, Threaded Tribes to mention a few. The models brought the theme to life as they strutted across the street to the new Elle Lokko store in looks reminiscent of iconic Ghanaian styles.

At the end the show, guests were led to the store whose attractions included a history corner paying homage to Chez Julie with a portrait of the Ghanaian fashion trendsetter, her own sewing machine and one of her original outfits; personalised light installations by interior design firm, Bissa Heritage; and live mannequins from the show.

An evening cocktail followed with live music by the superjazzclub and DJ sets by Aldo Blasei and YUSU.

The new Elle Lokko store is located at the top floor of h.se n.14 Lokko Road, Accra.

Elle Lokko is the brainchild of designer/curator Stefania Manfreda. Launched in September 2015 as Accra's first women's concept store, it is a member of the Lokko House family of creative brands. Elle Lokko is a collage of cultural and commercial entities from fashion to design, including music, lifestyle, art and photography. It also hosts exhibitions that offer an intense variety of genres and experiences to Ghana’s local contemporary culture.

Ministry Church  is one of the most committed church ministries that our senior pastor started in January 1975 after having a profoundly transformative experience with the Lord. In addition to serving as an evangelist for more than 45 years, he spent 30 years of his life serving in the United States Marine Corps before retiring. Driven by his enthusiasm for evangelization, he founded The Midnight Cry evangelistic ministry in 1977.
